Hard to believe it has been just six years since Climb Real Estate opened its doors as an independent brokerage. What happened since has been pure magic. From our core team of seven visionary agents we grew to more than 100 affiliated sales associates. Our one office has become five – plus our famous mobile Airstream office, of course! We have collectively sold more than $3 billion in real estate and we continue to set records all the time. Focus, hard work, a “customer-centric” culture, and an entrepreneurial team has driven our success.
As a team, we’ve also shared many of life’s milestones together – from our own first home purchases to marriages, children and the grief from losing two of our own team members. Through it all, we have been driven by a belief that buying and selling a home is about more than just the transaction; it is about our clients’ lives, hopes and dreams. Our company mission is to continue striving to deliver the absolute best in service to our clients by fostering an unmatched internal culture of collaboration, transparency, innovation, accountability and fun!
Over the past year as Climb started garnering national success, Mark Choey and I have been approached by various companies. We became intimately aware of how thirsty the market is for a unique brand like Climb. Ultimately, we were approached by one very well-known company offering a truly different business concept. They want us to continue to build as Climb, in San Francisco and beyond. They wanted to garner more market share in core urban markets around the Bay Area. But most importantly, they wanted us to continue to be Climb, to continue our innovative strategies and continue on our amazing trajectory of growth.
Today marks a very exciting day in the short history of Climb Real Estate. Mark, Tiffany Combs and I are very proud to announce that we have been acquired by NRT, the world’s largest real estate brokerage company. NRT’s stable of incredibly successful companies includes Sotheby’s International Realty, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, the Corcoran Group and ZipRealty, among others. And now Climb Real Estate. Pretty impressive company for a young brokerage like ours! With this acquisition, we will be part of NRT’s prestigious private label strategy, which includes the Corcoran Group in New York.
This is an incredible time to be a part of Climb Real Estate. For would be “Climbers,” the opportunities to associate are almost limitless. On one hand, we will continue to operate as we always have. We will have the same mission and vision. We will have the same culture and values. We are still the best real estate company in San Francisco. And Climb will still have the best holiday parties that even SantaCon can’t disrupt.
But we will now have the support of a real estate powerhouse behind Climb’s innovative brand and business model as we continue to reinvent the traditional home buying and selling experiences for today’s consumer. We’ll have the power and resources of the number one real estate company in the U.S. behind us. With this comes the financial backing, expertise, technology, resources and networking and referral opportunities to help Climb and our affiliated agents expand our respective businesses and provide our clients with an even greater level of service.
As for me, I’ll still be tasked with running the Climb ship. Namely, that means I’ll still be the only real estate president who personally goes to Costco to pick up goodies for my team. But now I’ll have an even larger support team – and maybe a wee bit bigger budget for our shopping list.
As we end one chapter here at Climb, I’m really excited about the next chapter to come. We began our journey in one of the nation’s top real estate markets with a whole new set of tools and resources to propel us forward. And we continue to have the best sales associates in the business, with a vibrant, cutting edge culture to go with our brand.
