Agent Profile

I moved to San Francisco to teach yoga after an 8-year career at the top Real Estate firm in Boston, MA. I was drawn to SF by my brother–I visited him 10 times his first year–I got a season’s pass to Squaw Valley, left a suitcase at his apartment, and made a group of friends in the fitness community instantly. So when the natural decision to move occurred, I literally rented out my Boston condo, packed 10 boxes of my shoes and clothes, and brought them on the plane with me to SF. I love that I can run around in Lulus and Nikes–everything is urban chic here–and that people judge you for your brains, not your clothes and cars. I feel at home in SF because its really a fancy place at its heart, but doesn’t take itself too seriously on the outside. I can sell a house in the morning, climb a mountain at noon, and drink champagne on the beach at sunset. It’s a magical place!

Client Testimonials

“Margot went above and beyond the call of duty on numerous occasions. Unlike many brokers with whom we had spoken previously, Margot did not push us outside our comfort zone with respect to submarket or price. Her honesty was also much appreciated; she never sugarcoated things and she was the first to point out potential flaws in condos we visited. We put in offers on three different condos before ultimately finding our current home. For each offer we made, Margot completed a comparable-sales analysis to help us understand how fairly or unfairly the unit was priced. Margot’s patience with us was admirable; at no point did she lose interest or give up on us. As we walked away from one condo after another, she was supportive and understanding.”

“I worked with Margot for 6 months, selling one home and buying another with her. She is an amazing realtor! Margot carefully explains and handles all aspects of real estate–she transforms the whole experience into a logical, manageable, and enjoyable experience. When selling my home, Margot helped advertise, promote, and stage my house for optimal resale. I am still amazed how important this process is! I could not have done this without her objective and professional advice. In staging my home, her object was to show off its space and light so that people could imagine living there. I did everything Margot suggested–including listening to her careful market analysis of my home’s value–and my house sold the first week we put it on the market. Margot negotiated powerfully and honestly, while maintaining everyone’s integrity and goodwill throughout the process. A mighty feat! I am so grateful for her comprehensive help in selling my home. In buying a home with Margot, I saw a new set of her professional skills. Margot is a superb listener and quickly sensed what I was looking for and needed in a home. She is tireless, available, honest, and knowledgeable about the local market, and made the process of getting out to see what was available logical and enjoyable. Margot never wasted my time looking at homes beyond my means or outside my comfort zone. She often warned me of problems in homes that I might not have noticed, and helped me resist buying the wrong house. She always held out for the right home for me–and I cannot thank her enough for her persistence, honesty, and good judgement.”

“Margot was a dream to work with! She was always available and eager to answer any questions we had. She helped us buy and sell our homes and coordinated everything so that we could concentrate on our big move. We really felt that she had our best interest at heart throughout the entire buying process. What a refreshing experience!”

“We wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed working with Margot. She was absolutely outstanding. We have already owned two condos, and therefore have worked with other buyer brokers in the past. Never again! Margot made us feel so comfortable, and was extremely professional. It is clear how much she loves her job, and we found ourselves looking forward to our condo-hunting trips. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she made us realize that this process didn’t have to be stressful. Margot showed us many places, yet she never made us feel pressured to make an offer. We know that she was looking out for our best interests, and really wanted us to be happy with our decision. Moreover, we always appreciated her thoughts and observations about the condos. Since we knew that Margot was on our side, we felt that she would always give us an honest answer. Also, she actually understood what we liked. Therefore, every time she showed us a condo (or suggested that we see one that wasn’t so nice in the pictures); it ended up being a worthwhile trip. Last but not least, it was incredibly easy to get in touch with Margot. She kept us informed every step of the way, and was always available via phone or e-mail. We don’t know how she does it. I’m sure she’s extremely busy, but she made us feel like we were her most important clients.”

“Our buying agent was Margot L. who works with Gail–who’s like the queen bee of Cambridge real estate, and the seller’s agent was Robin. All were fantastic, courteous, professional, and connected to everything going on. Never did we feel pressured, pushed, misguided, tricked, or deceived. They even gently but assertively steered me away from a property I’d gotten obsessed with but was a huge financial risk (hello, foreclosure in the building and no lenders would finance it!?) And they never pushed a sketchy mortgage guy on us. Margot took close to a year to find us the perfect place, and we closed on it one week ago! It’s an amazing find and I will actually push people to work with Margot if they even mention they’re looking to buy or sell. You’ll have a smooth, professional, honest experience! It’s a huge purchase, so you should feel 100% comfortable with your agent, and even be friends with them! Don’t accept anything less when you’re spending hundreds of thousands of dollars!”
– Eric S.

“Margot Lubin was a huge asset in our search for the perfect new home. She worked tirelessly with us for almost 2 years to make sure we got exactly what we were looking for and helped us prioritize our wish list and our budget. Her knowledge of the local real estate market and her relationships with area builders and remodelers gives her a great eye for quality and up-and-coming neighborhoods. She knew that we already had a home in a great neighborhood and made sure that we didn’t settle when we looked to upgrade. Margot kept us up to date on all of the best listings and made herself available for rounds of open houses and last-minute site visits. She does business with a smile on her face, but is tough, and held firm to make sure we got top dollar for our sale and facilitated the purchase of our new home. Margot was with us for a long journey and any homebuyer would be in good hands to work with her in the future. She will be the first person we call when we move again in the future.”
